I purchased an LG GWA 4082N DVD/CD burner for my A30, (2652-13) running XP Pro and I can't get any audio while playing a DVD. I can get audio from a CD though. I'm using Windows Media Player 10. Any ideas? I've spent most of the day trying to figure this out.
Thanks
Frank

Are you using Nero?
If you install Nero, deinstall Nero and DVD decoder(PowerDVD, DVDExpress...etc; whatever plays DVD). Reinstall DVD player and play DVD once from WMP10. Then reinstall Nero. The point is, if Nero was installed before DVD decoder, WMP10 takes Nero as default DVD decoder which plays silent sound when you play DVD.
Thanks for the help, I finally got the DVD to play!! I did like you said, I uninstalled the Nero and decoders. It still wouldn't play a DVD though, MP10 wanted a decoder. I loaded VLC media player, (freeware) as the decoder and it plays the DVD's. I reloaded Nero so I could burn DVD's. Thanks Again.
