R50 Bluetooth Problems

#1 Post by ILoveBFLO » Sat Feb 25, 2006 12:09 am

So I made the leap and purchased the BMDC200 (91P7315) for my R50. I purchased the Hitachi Bluetooth antenna and plugged it into the card. After following the directions to install the card from the IBM website the modem works fine but my system doesn't see the Bluetooth card at all. There is nothing in my Device Manger for Bluetooth and it doesn't show up in Fn+F5.

Anyone had a similar issue?

I'd appreciate ANY help anyone can give.

Thanks so much....

Thanks, but I can't even get the Thinkpad to recognize that it is a BMDC card as opposed to a standard modem card. I don't have anything in my device manager that says anything about a Bluetooth radio. Is there something in thee BIOS i have to edit? It's like the Bluetooth radio just isn't turned on on the card....

Thanks again for anyones help....

Has your system ever seen it? I briefly had this problem with mine until I reinstalled SP2 to reinstall the MS drivers, which I prefer over the widcomm drivers and software. Mine was working fine and then suddenly it stopped working and could not be reinstalled until I reinstalled SP2.

No, my system has never seen it. Seems like when I plug it in, it only sees it at the standard IBM modem and no Bluetooth...

Also, since my system came already with SP2 installed. How do I reinstall? It doesn't show in my add/remove programs with Show Updates checked....

thx!

You can download the update from MS directly. It's a large file so you'll want to be on a broadband connection when you download it.

Has anyone upgraded their R50 to include Bluetooth?

Sorry for the bump, I'm ready to pull my hair out!
