A22M

#1 Post by Korpz » Sun Feb 26, 2006 11:31 pm

I looked through all of the posts, as I didn't want to repeat this if it was in here. I bought a A22M, type 2628, model R2U. It has some type of Government bios in it, but my problem is my pcmcia slot. I put my wireless card in, finds it, goes to connect to the network, and the darn thing freezes. To top it off I pull the card out, and poof, it's working again. Put it back in and freezes again. I tried setting the irq's (I thought it might be a conflict), no luck. I took the dual card out (modem/network card), and it's still the same. Tried re-loading xp all over again (I thought maybe I did something wrong), still the same. There is a spot in config in bios that sets 4 irq settings, played with them all and still no luck. If anyone has any ideas that I might have over looked I sure would appreciate it.

Hi sir, I would definately try another card. Some cards just cause problems. I know that is not much of an explanation, but I had aPCMCIA card that locked up my t30 coming out of hibernation.

corpz, on the bottom of your A22m there is a mini-pic slot that you access removing one screw. You want a combo board, that is 802.11b and modem. Not difficult to get one, eg this ebay auction goes in 15 hours:

It's for listed for T series but should be the same.

Good luck!
T440s OK so far.
T420s NVIDIA graphics. Nice, then MB failure.
T400s Workhorse. two of'em, both faulty display with vertical stripes.
T43 °very nice° - MB reflown and dead, two of'em.
T42 15°, dead onboard wireless.
T40, dead memory slot, stolen from me
T30, stolen from me
TP600 dead
