Access Connection

#1 Post by ffod » Mon Mar 06, 2006 10:51 am

I am having problems with a G41 and it seems to have just happened since I updated to the new version of access connections (after IBM replaced the hard drive & MB) I loaded everything back on the laptop and gave it to the salesman it belonged to and right away he started to complain about not being able to set up the wirless at his branch. I walked him through it, and the next day his settings were gone and I walked him through it again (figuring he didn't save the settings) then he sent it back saying he couldn't get anything set up at home and the Mcafee was all screwy (blah-blah). Well, when I got it back, I found out he had enabled the windows firewall (I disable), and he had somehow screwed up the McAfee settings (users!!), but...I have not been able to get access connections to connect to our wireless here either. I set my G40 right next to it. I have the newer version too, all the settings look the same. It comes back with an error telling me that either my wep settings are wrong or the adapter might not be set to accept the key (1) of the wireless. (huh?) I know the wep is right. and why would the adapter not like key 1? I have never run into this before. I have probably 30 some G40/G41's running in my environment and have never had a problem until now. Any ideas out there?????

I know on my R40 it showed two different drivers for two different wireless cards. I initially installe done but it didn't work (even though it said it in stalled, etc). Switche dto the othe rone and it worked.
