A30 2652,New battery,latest BIOS, won't charge ! Help,thanks

I purchased a new battery from Laptops for less. They said I would have to upgrade the BIOS for it to work. I did that but it still will not charge.
The battery info program shows no current flowing into the battery. the voltage shows 11.1 and the battery shows 0 % I feel like it is a software problem, but I have no idea where to go next. any thoughts ?

I have a similar problem with my A30 in that my battery will not charge correctly. The computer runs fine on AC power, and the Battery MaxiMiser says the battery is good. One abnormal thing I've noticed is when I pull the plug, it doesn't recognize that it has changed to battery power...no beep, no icon change, and it says it's still charging. Still, the battery power runs down like normal. However, when I plug the adapter back in, no beep, and it says some ridiculous number, like 38 hours left to fully charge. I left it charging all night, and it only went from 27% to 54%.

On the Battery MaxiMiser "battery information" screen, I compared the charging numbers with my other A30, which runs fine.

Here is what I found while charging:

Bad charging computer:
Current: .05 amps
Voltage: 11.69 volts
Wattage: 0.57 watts

Good charging computer:
Current: 1.65 amps
Voltage: 12.31 volts
Wattage: 20.02 watts

Does anyone know what could be causing this extreme wattage difference?

I read from IBM's R40 manual that if the computer heats up too much the battery wouldn't charge & would wait until it is cool enough.

Aren't A series very hot anyway?
