R51 boot problem...

#1 Post by yoi55 » Sun Mar 12, 2006 9:23 pm

I have an R51 and the CMOS battery went dead. When I turn on the laptop it says the date and time is incorrect and then must go to the BIOS, but it asks for a password. I've tried MANY passwords including the backdoor and default passwords. Is there something I am missing? I cannot boot without this password I guess...I put in a password 3 times and it says they are incorrect, but then it won't continue to boot...I turn it off then back on...same thing. Is there a way to reset the password, or take it off? Thanks in advance.

The site says "Unfortunately we were unable to find the product you specified."

Try this one. http://www.pwcrack.com/security_chips_ibm.shtml
R51 is near the bottom of the list.
