My new Z60m

#1 Post by KurtS » Fri Mar 24, 2006 7:55 pm

After a few days of use, I have to say I'm impressed. I have the 2529-01U (1.73ghz, 1MB, 40gb, x300, etc.) Tech specs aside, here are a few impressions:
  • The titanium lid is substantial. I don't think it will bend as easily as my last computer.
  • I find the 15.4" screen large enough to use as a primary work computer.
  • The keyboard feel is fantastic, and the overall build quality is better than many computers in this price range.
  • There are a lot of nice user/interface features, such as the ThinkVantage button, that lets me quickly jump between wifi hotspots, and other useful settings. I also like how the hard drive parks during shocks.
  • Screen brightness was a real concern, so I opted for the Max Bright screen. It is so much brighter and legible than my old laptop (a Ti G4), which caused eye strain in glare conditions.
I'll probably find a lot more I like about this ThinkPad; no buyer remorse here.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
