Warranty experience questions.

#1 Post by AdamaDBrown » Sat Mar 25, 2006 6:04 pm

I'm afraid that my R50p may have a burnt out battery charging circuit (as well as having a loose GPU). If this does turn out to be the case, can anyone offer advice on warranty repairs? My machine is second-hand, but in warranty until December (checked on the IBM site). What's the turnaround time like? Has anyone gotten similar problems fixed?

The turn around time is based on the situation and whether or not they have the parts in stock.

I would send it in now, rather than later, in case there are any problems (not that I would expect any), because recently some people have complained about the service from Solectron.

I had turn around service on a T30 within about 6 days (note: there was also a Saturday and sunday in there) from the date that I sent it to them, to the time that I rec'd it back from them. No problems with the service...stellar, as far as I am concerned.
