A31 2652-PBU BIOS and Hard Disk Locked!

#1 Post by Kanon » Tue Apr 04, 2006 7:23 pm

One day when i turn on my A31 3652-PBU, it shows me the 0270 error code (Bad Time and Date), so it try to go to the BIOS but it requests me a password! And i have never change it...

I reboot, and this time, my pc request me a hard disk password, so i begin trying standard default passwords, and after many unsucessful tries, i went right on the hard disk password, it was "0000000".

Again, prompts me the 0270 Error Code, and request me the BIOS password. I try the same for the HD, but it didn't work, and so any of the other standard default codes i know.

Did someone of you know how to disble the BIOS password? Please! It's urgent!

Thanks a lot in advance 8)

It requires some disassembly of the laptop. Remove the keyboard, the keyboard bezel, and the PCMCIA housing and the EEPROM is under there.

It's possible to retrieve the password if you have Linux installed without soldering, though you still have to disassemble the laptop.
