Hello guys,
I am currently the owner of a R50e which original CPU has been a 1,4 GHz celeron M360. Today I have just upgraded to the new sonoma pentium M750 (1,86 GHz, 2 MB cache, 533 FSB) however fsb 133 isn't supported by my current motherboard (855 GM/GME - integrated graphics). BIOS version is the newest IBM has to offer through its automatic tool (1WET88WW version 2.08 ). My system model is: 1834S5G.
Therefore I'd advise you against a 533 quadpumped FSB; instead go with the 400 FSB unless you want to sulk like me.
Changing the CPU isn't hard at all; just follow the advice from the hardware maintnance manual found on the ibm website (39t2462.pdf).
