A30, W2k, Device Manager, Unknown PCI device?

#1 Post by volvy » Mon Apr 10, 2006 9:16 pm

Just got an A30, 2652-34U, Loaded up W2k, and installed all the drivers I thought I needed. However there is one missing driver for a "PCI Device". Any idea what it might be?

Device Manager
Batteries
Computer
Disk Drives
Display Adapters
DVD/CD-ROM drives
Floppy disk controllers
IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
Infrared devices
Keyboards
Mice and other pointing devices
Modems
Monitors
Network Adapters
?Other devices
?PCI Device ?????????????????????????????
PCMCIA adapters
PPorts (COM&LPT)
Sound, video and game controllers
System devices
Universal Serial Bus controlers

Thanks

Sound? Wireless NIC? Modem? NIC? Which one's NOT showing up when you expand the major categories? Maybe it's an extension set to the sound card/driver?

Have you gone to thinkpad.com and installed the Thinkpad Manager Software Installer and done everything it suggested?

All catagories have drivers, with the exception of the
"?Other devices" with the Subcatagory of "?PCI Device" , which is unknown. Yes I have installed everything the thinkpad manager software suggested.

I have same issue with my A31p. Since everyting works only thing what I may suspect may be Docking Port, BTW driver is not installed.

Question is - did Docking Port shows in W2k Device Manager when driver is installed?

Problem was in missing Supplement files for Windows (ThinkPad A30/p, A31/p, S31, T23, T30, X22, X23, X24). After installing this driver question mark is gone.
