Attaching an external monitor to R52 ?

Have Formac ADC\DVI display on my MAC G4 - the cable just goes direct to G4 tower - cab I use this display with R52? if so what kind of cable do I need to connect it?
If my Formac is not suitable, can anyone advise what kind and brand of displays are suitable.

I am confused about the differences : VGA, ADC, DVI ?

What of the above are suitable ?
Am I limited to using just a VGA display?
