R30 Windows 2000 Pro

#1 Post by BoBraxton » Wed May 10, 2006 2:41 pm

I bought $400.00 IBM ThinkPad R30 and replaced the Windows 98 with Windows 2000, formatting the hard drive from scratch. Things seem to work well on that unit except the video quality is lousy, particularly on photographs (there may be a loose connection or something AND it seems to vary depending on the login and desktop corresponding to that login).
Later I bought another $400.00 IBM ThinkPad R30 (same retail store, PC Retro) and decided this time to try running the Windows 2000 setup as an upgrade, converting to NTFS.

The update to Windows 2000 Pro worked Ok.
To connect to the internet, I got the Ethernet driver

This allowed me to download all R30 drivers at once; however, after I ran all of them, I still seem to be missing Audio driver for Windows 2000 Pro IBM ThinkPad R30

Just install and run the Software Installer and quit mucking about installing individual drivers!

You're going to wind up chasing your tail if you accidentally fail to uninstall some program or driver before loading a new one. The Software Installer does it all for you automatically.
