ThinkPad Z61t is on the Lenovo website --- ready for order..

#1 Post by ThinkZ61 » Fri May 19, 2006 12:43 pm

ThinkPad Z61t is up no Lenovo site for sale. I already placed an order on that last night. Spoke with the customer rep and according to them it won’t ship until 6-8 weeks.

My current estimated shipping date is showing June 8th.

Z61t link:

link

It shows up as Z60t but once you click to customize it changes to Z61t. It’s just a typo on their website. It’s priced at $1999.99
The model # is 94402CU which is not included in the tabook. It comes with the following options:

1. 100.0 GB at 5400 rpm,
2. Intel Core Duo processor T2500,
3. 1 GB (2 x 512 MB SO DIMMs),
4. 14.1-in widescreen TFT (1440 x 900), (current spec shows resolution as 1280x768)
5. DVD Recordable, Intel 945GM,
6. Intel Graphics Media
7. Accelerator 950 chipset,
8. Integrated camera, 4-cell battery, (currently website doesn’t show that it has the camera)
9. Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG,
10. Bluetooth wireless technology,
11. Verizon Wireless Broadband Access,
12. Client Security Solution,
13. Fingerprint reader, IEEE 1394,
14. Titanium top cover

NOTE: Some of the specs won't show up on the product info page....

The specs are detailed in this page:

Wow nice find! :D

Those prices are pretty steep  The 94402CU costs $1,999 and has a 1-year warranty? Wtf :? A 3-year warranty is more appropriate for a ThinkPad in that price range.

Can't seem to access the Z61t specs page even after doing a search.

Does the Z61t come with ATI video cards or still Intel integrated video?

I find the Z60m too big for me since I carry around my laptop everyday. A Z61t with T60 specs would be nice :)

Unfortunately the z61t models have been removed from Lenovo site. They might be putting them up for sale again this week or next week.

As for ATI video cards, z61t has only Integrated Intel video card.

There is still a Z61M model available, and it has ATI video.

I agree that a discrete GPU option would be nice on the 14" widescreen models.

I checked out the Z60m before but its just too big for me to comfortably carry around. Z60t's size and weight would have been perfect!!

Even if I don't intend to watch movies on the WXGA screen, its especially useful for spreadsheet work and surfing.

I was expecting that the Core Duo version of the 14" Z's would have arrived with a dedicated GPU like what most other brands offer but I was wrong *sigh*.

For my next laptop, I might just get another T60...

Yeah a decent one like NV110/120 like the dell 620 would have been great! i am just waiting for the one with the integrated webcam. They donot seem to be on even the most expensive of the Z61s'.

webcams

#12 Post by Nooorm » Thu Jun 15, 2006 5:11 pm

No webcams on the Thinkpads.

The L3K laptops have them though, and the pics I've seen in the reviews I've read look really good.

N100 & V100 models have the webcams.

Actually, they do have a 0.3MP integrated Webcam

Just look around for the reviews that have been done on them as well.
