Docking Stations?

#1 Post by JaredMcDonley » Sat May 20, 2006 10:33 am

I see that Lenovo lists the advanced dock (250310U) as compatible with the z60t. Are there anyother models that will take a PCI card and still work with the z60? Like maybe this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-ThinkPad-Dock-D ... dZViewItem

Also, how well does having a graphics card in the docking station work for gaming? I would think that there will be some lose of performace due to the pci port being further from the MB, but is it worth the money? I like gaming and would like to get rid of my desk unit.

Thanks for the help!
Jared

Are you talking about PCI or PCI-e? If its PCI, then gaming on a z60t is not going to be that much better than it already is. If its PCI-e, which only advanced dock has i belive, then at that price its just better to keep your desktop.

That docking station you posted will not work with the Z series. You need to get one of the "Advanced" series docks.
