R50e CPU woas

#1 Post by cmitchell5 » Mon May 29, 2006 12:15 pm

Okay, I realize that I made a mistake. I purchased a CPU that will not work in my R50e. It was a 533fsb one. Okay, so I returned it and tried to redeem myself with this different one. A SL5YU wich should be a 1.6 400 fsb chip. Still does not work. So, now I need to know why not. All that happens when I hit the power button is that the light blinks and nothing else. So, now I am looking at another chip but would like a little advice before I go making myself look stupid again. The chip is SL65Q. Can someone please help me.

I guess when you put un matchable processor in to socket and
turn ON power, your motherboard will stop working. Because
this is the case in most desktop board's. Bring your laptop to
shop keeper, test the respective processor and then only buy
it. It's easy to bring laptop at computer shop. 8)
