R40 Battery Issue

#1 Post by AgentSkelly » Fri Jun 09, 2006 9:59 am

I have a R40 (2681-HU1) that I got as a refurbished unit back in December of 2005. This ThinkPad has been pretty reliable untill recently when the battery life started to go downhill pretty fast. Right now I have only roughly only 30 minutes on the battery I have. I have tried the reconditoning steps specified in the MaxiMiser with no luck.

Before I go out and buy a new battery, does any one have any ideas or solutions? Thanks!

did you check the battery health gauge (which in my experience always seems to say good), and the cycle count?

I know that it isn't quite what you are looking for, but I'd be willing to PayPal you $15 shipped (regular mail) for your old battery, which will help you put money towards a replacement one.

I just need something for updating the BIOS, and being able to unplug my R40 (bad CMOS connector) and not have to reset time and No_1802 hack, for the sake of moving the R40 around the house.

why is that odd? i have an ultrabay battery with 200 something cycles on it, but its still in the green.

i say throw the thing out...

i mean dispose of or recycle in accordance with the law.

edit: or sell it for $15!!
