resolution change when lid first closed then opened

Hello,
I have changed the Lid Close action as "No action" in the Global Power
Setting tab of Power Manager since I don't want my thinkpad goes
offline when lid closed. But now, when I open the lid again, the
resolution is automatically set to 800 X 600 whereas it was 1280 X 800
when I closed the lid. This only happens when Lid Close action was set
as "No action", there is no problem with "Stand by" or "Hibernate". It
is a z60m thinkpad and I am using XP home edition. I suspect the
problem is related with presentation manager, but don't know exactly
why is this happening and how to resolve? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
