#1 Post by ThinkPadPhile » Thu May 13, 2004 8:13 pm

Guest, who I presume will not register because he is afraid to has harassed me on this site mulitple times in this forum and the T series forum. His posts should be removed or he should be forced to register or leave.

Thanks,
-J.

I think people should be required to register before they can post like all other forums as it would help to reduce problems like trolls and spammers.

I believe that Bill said several days ago that he is working on stopping guests from posting. Until he gets that solved, even *I'm* refraining from whining about things too much (although I have sent a few private messages to people who quote entire messages including signatures asking them to stop because it makes the pages even longer than they already are).

since you are such an acclaimed programmer, you can think of a way to make anonymous people leave.

thinkpadphile,

the problem is that the term "thinkpadphile" connotates an upper level of thinkpad knowledge.   after seeing you post what most consider as basic thinkpad-related questions, admitting to never having owned a thinkpad, and not doing prior research on said basic questions, one can understand why people are jumping on your back.

having owned nine thinkpads myself (600, 701c, 765, 770, T22, T23, A22p, R50p, and s30 -- not necessarily in that order), i would barely consider myself as a "phile."   i, along with everyone here, learn something new every day.

the anonymous posts are childish.   however, i agree with the idea of researching first and asking questions once no other answer can be found.   it's good practice for college.   ;)

i'm not jumping on your back.   i'm simply trying to call it like i see it.
