Boot password lost.

#1 Post by JEBB » Thu Jul 13, 2006 5:09 pm

Someone here has somehow set a boot password for his R40 and doesn't know what it is. Does he have any options other than parting it out?

If you're referring to a Power On Password (POP), pull the CMOS and primary batteries and power up on AC.

Password will be gone.

The thief will sell your computer parts not your whole comp if they know there is a supervisor password in it. Always be careful and carry your laptop with you wherever you go, don't leave your TP unattended. In singapore, there are also many laptop theives.

If you say you are using a school bag to contain your laptop, you must carry it with you at all times also. Because when you need to use it, you take out the comp right? And whoever saw it will know what's in your school bag and you might be their next target. So be careful. Always be careful. Don't leave your laptop and your other belongings unattended.
