Upgraded fan and EZserv

#1 Post by rajm » Mon Aug 07, 2006 11:35 am

I have upgraded the fan in my A31p to the higher powered one. I have to send my laptop in for repair and was wondering if I have to put the old fan back in now, or would the not care?

I would do so as a safety measure. I've heard mixed reports on easyserve but if they are anything like even many other repair companies, they'll look for a reason to turn you down or charge more money the second the computer gets there.

RAM is probably different. This is the fan over the CPU...I think I will change it out just to be safe.

That's a good idea. Take out any other upgrades as well. While there are many stories of good things happening with EZserve, there's enough horror stories that I wouldn't trust them to a full extent.

Yes, I would change it out. The fan is not considered a Customer Replaceable item, where are the ram is.
