External Keyboard
I paid $50 for a "Y"cable to be able to connect an external keyboard to thinkpad.
I just got a Z60m and I cannot find a way to connect this cable to it so I can use an External Keyboard.
Am I overlooking something?

Not sure what "Y" cable you bought, but you can use a usb keyboard.
Or if you want to use your ps2 keyboard, you need something like this:

External Keyboard
Now thats sounds like an option. I do wonder why they decided not to have a ps2 port since there are so many keyboards and mice that use this connection.
BTW, do you know what that small cover on the left front of the Z60m is for? It has a small icon like >>>> by it
Thanks for the help

Yes, I take most everything off - and I get rid of the hidden partition as well. I'm not a fan of the big blue button or any type of system restore - I want all of my harddrive available to me.johnfarrow wrote:BTW,
I see you have the same model of z60m that i have. Did you take the Norton stuff off ?
Actually, I did a clean install of XP, but I was not intending on it. There really isn't any reason to do a clean install - but IBM's device drivers page is awesome, so that makes it rather headache-free.
I use acronis true image for my backup's. I partition the drive, and leave only the OS, Program Files, and Email on the C drive - I save no files or anything in My Documents or the C drive (I don't delete anything that XP installs - I just don't add anymore). Then I do weekly C drive images that I save on a separate drive. That way I can always get back to where I was by using one of my saved images, and they remain relatively small - my C drive images are only about 6gig and I have all my audio, photo/image and assorted software loaded (I use a hard drive adapter in the ultraslim bay for the backups/restores).
And I make daily or weekly backup's of some of my folders and files that are on the partition (just the files/folders that are changing - mostly work related stuff).
