Well, I got this machine, and the only thing I'm not happy with is the plam rest and the inability to run Aero when it comes out (professional reasons).
This machine is the balls, and by far the best thinkpad I've had. It has been down my stairs twice and only has the paint from the wall to show for the trip. It has known the joys of lesser wines and to this day tells no tales. Service has been outstanding. I had to call for the install disks, and IBM wasted no time. Free, too.
Choosing the machine is important, and next time I will be sure to make it a little beefier than I need for future upgrades. Again, my problem, not the machines. It's worth the extra money to be able to power anticipated technologies if you are in the tech business, and the Intel 915 is sorely lacking in this respect.
In a nutshell, as long as Lenovo keeps up with the trackpoint, I'll keep getting these machines. This machine has taken everything I've thrown it at and still has a squeaky palm rest. Awesome.

Down the stairs a few times? Wine spills?

I am pretty sure your Thinkpad has gone through more in a few months than other Thinkpads go through in several years. Still, good thing it is holding up perfectly. :D

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
