#1 Post by BushRum » Sun Oct 01, 2006 6:59 pm

from Win 2000 to WINXP Prof. Also tried Win XP Home with same results. Cannot find the drivers anywhere.

Thanks Bill - for responding.
In my haste (since this seems to be the only working forum for IBM Thinkpad)...
I was running my A21m -2628 with Win 2000 Service pack 4 without problems. Decided ( :-) ) to upgrade to Win XP SP2 and came up with the network controller missing drivers in the control panel. Couldn't connect to the network (wired or wireless using a pcmcia card -worked under Win 2000).
I then loaded Win XP Home SP1 with the same results - missing network controller. Played with lots of files/utilities from www.ibm.com for that model.
Has anyone seen this erroe before? Surely, others are running WinXP on the A21m.

Problem solved.
Re-installed Win XP Pro, but SP1. All okay. Patching to SP2 now.
