Dual DVI displays on Z61m in advanced dock?
Dual DVI displays on Z61m in advanced dock?
I've perused many of the posts regarding multiple monitors and see a lot of conficting reports.
My question is - has ANYONE had success with a Z61m in the advanced dock and a PCI DVI card in the dock to drive dual DVI monitors? (I have the ATI mobility radeon X1400 graphics)
FWIW, I don't need a particularly powerful adapter - I run 1280x1024 at my workstation and don't do intensive graphics or gaming. I just can't take looking at the blurry analog-driven LCD sitting right next to the DVI-driven LCD :(

According to the lenovo website, the doc has:
"One half-size PCI Express card slot - supports a range of graphics adapter cards that allow for multi-monitoring"
I asked a Lenovo sales person what graphics adapters are supported and the reply was that they do not know which cards it supports but that they could recommend vtbook.com, but AFAICT, they only provide a PCMCIA adapter - not a PCIe adapter. <Sigh>...should have know better than to ask...

another chapter in the tale....
I asked the XFX tech support which card they would recommend, since I've seen several posts reporting good luck with at least one of their cards. This was the response:
"[BRIAN - 10/09/2006] Hi Chris, thanks for the message. Unfortunately, our PCI-Express cards only support 16x PCI-Express slots. Thanks Brian. "
So, according to XFX, none of their cards will work in the advanced dock.
