Parts info for Z61m hard drive caddy?

#1 Post by jcan » Tue Oct 17, 2006 4:27 pm

Hi, I'm wondering if I possibly can purchase
the hard drive caddy (including plastic cover, metal framed caddy
with screws and rubber rails) for Z61m.
Any part information would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Here is the parts list for the Z61m. System service parts - ThinkPad Z61e, Z61m, Z61p

The Hard Drive Rubber Rails are item 10. The Hard Disk Drive Cover is item 14. I am not too sure you can get the metal framed caddy and screws. Give them a call and let us know what you find out.

Purchase parts link is at the bottom of the page.

I too am interested in hdd caddy, rubber rails, and screws. I have the fru for the rubber rails, but not the caddy and screws. I just need it for the Ultrabay hdd caddy. I bought another SATA drive for the Ultrabay adapter, but it did not have those parts.

I am about to buy a SATA hdd adapter too, and if i find I need these parts as well, I'd appreciate any info you can provide.

FYI, the Ultrabay Slim 2nd Hard Disk Adapter does not require any of these parts (only a drive). They are only needed for when you put the hard drive in the main HD slot.

EDIT: I see the Z series uses the Ultrabay Enhanced. Still, you shouldn't need any extra parts for the 2nd Hard Disk Adapter.
