PROBLEM with new PC Tools from Lenovo

Lenovo just included Pc Tools 5.0 as a download option. It really screwed up my machine, not to mention the time it took for me to figure out exactly which download was responsible. It disabled my O&O defrag program, it disabled add/remove programs, and messed up my drive letters when using a 2nd drive, and it could NOT be un-installed!! Fortunately, I had backup images on DVD.

Lenovo occasionally messes up an upgrade and later fixes it.....
like the screen resolution problem, the video driver problem, etc...
but this one was bad and I could not wait for the fix, which will eventually come.

So for now I would recommend NOT installing that program in your machine.

I believe you are referring to the PC Doctor 5 upgrade. Yes, it is a known issue. I had this problem myself. For those of you affected, Windows System Restore from SAFE MODE works for most people. There is an active thread on this issue in the Windows OS forum.
