I don't have any experience with ValueSelect on Thinkpads, but I have used ValueSelect for building desktop systems with no problems. Come to think of it, I've never had a bad stick from Corsair. Beware: the memory market is quite full of hype -- in claims and prices. Generic memory from a good quality manufacturer is all the most people (except system tweakers) really need.
