Advice needed, going through hell with IBM :(

Hello everyone, if any one could give me some tips and hints that be appreciated.
On 10/22 i ordered a Z61m 9450D9U no changes (no extra ram, etc...) only addition was 3 year protection plan, est ship date was 11/07. On the following date i got a email that my ordered was delayed. Called in and tried to found out some info, rep. told me that my machine will be either shipped out next day or Friday. Next day they told me Friday. All excited that it will finally get shipped out, I call Friday and i get a new est ship date for 12/02........ When i called and asked what is wrong apparently they don't have a shell (its on back order), for the machine, not really sure what it is, the machine supposed to be in titanium cover would that be the shell ?
Should i cancel that order or just go w/ it.
Sorry for the long post, but I'm just upset about it :( wanted to take the lap on the trip and instead i got to take the old one, hopping the battery wont explode :)

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums :)

IBM/Lenovo is recently recovering from a whole spate of shipping problems, most of which were plenty annoying. Your Z Series Thinkpad should get shipped once they get all the parts together although I would give consideration to calling up your rep and asking why the machine is delayed if it should happen to get delayed again.

That wasn't too long of a post, by the way, so don't worry. :D

It was the same thing last year around this time. Everyones z60 took 4 weeks to get ready for shipping and than more than a week to ship, they are probably tied up with the Christmas season.

I ordered my Z61m (9450G6U) on Nov 5 and the online status showed estimated shipping date of Nov. 30. However, I called this morning and was told it should be shipped on Nov. 19 or 20.

So you might want to give Lenovo a call again.

I ordered a z61p on Oct. 20 , Still waiting.. for another week at least..
About to cancel my order and get a different model with more power for less money.
