ThinkPad Z61t - Integrated Intel 945GM with DVI?

Hi everyone,

I'm buying my first ThinkPad, and the website gave me an error when I tried to submit the order. So I called them and placed the order over the phone. I am a student majoring on Computer Engineering & Computer Science. Here's the configuration I chose:

- 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5600
- 1280 x 768 WXGA 14" display
- Intel GMA 950
- Integrated camera
- 4 Cell Battery
- 512 MB + 1 GB = 1.5 GB RAM
- 40 GB 5400 RPM drive
- CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo
- Windows XP Home
- No extra warranties

I asked for the ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN [standard], but he gave me the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Wireless instead because the ThinkPad one is on backorder.

I decided to call and have it changed to the ThinkPad wireless, since it's supposedly newer and does everything the Intel one does (plus it's compatible with OS X).

From Windows XP Home, I was told that I can upgrade to Vista Basic for free (just the $9.99 shipping), or upgrade to Vista Premium for $59. (From XP Pro, which costs $70, a Vista Business upgrade is free.) I've never found a need for any of the XP Pro features, so I should be OK, right? (Does the fingerprint reader get any additional functions or features with XP Pro?)

What do you think of my configuration? It came out to $1156.71, including tax and shipping.

Update: I'm looking at the Lenovo site now, and instead of the Intel GMA 950, they are selling laptops with the "Integrated Intel 945GM with DVI". Which is better? Are they the same, is it better to leave my order as-is, or should I call to change my order?

Looks like Lenovo has updated their website with some new offerings. I don't see anything significant except maybe some shifts in pricing.
