Hi,
I have been pulling my hair out over this problem with my R31/30. I got the laptop with a power supply problem, I ended up replacing the motherboard with a R31/30 celeron board. This is where my problems began, everytime I try to install windows the laptop crashes and reboots at some stage during the first part of the install process. I can leave the computer in the bios and I have installed ms dos via floppies and it never crashes. It only seems to crash when i try to install windows. It also gets to different stages of the install depending on which windows I try to install.
Please help, I have swapped hard drive , cdrom drive and memory and it still does it. I think it might be the thermal sensors as I noticed the sensors dont all match up between the board and the original r31 laptop base.
Thanks.
Newbie.
