T41P HDD in Z61P?

#1 Post by abnorm » Tue Nov 28, 2006 10:06 pm

Can I connect a ATA-100 IDE HDD from my old T41P to a Z61P using the Ultrabay or does it accept only Serial ATA?

Definately - an ATA hdd in the ATA hdd adapter works just dandy in the ultrabay. ;)

Thanks for the reply. In the z61 accessories page it says "connect SERIAL ata HDD" for ultrabay. Are you sure the older IDE HDD would work?

I use my hdd ultrabay adapter from my T42 with my hitachi ata 60gig 7200rpm drive from my T42.
I always have that hdd adapter and harddrive in my ultrabay of my Z60m.

I do want to get the sata hdd adapter and another sata hdd, but I havent gotten around to that yet.

Ok, so I need a regular none-serial ATA adopter. Do they still sell those?
