Wireless NIC not recieving IP address

#1 Post by Dave the Thinker » Sat Sep 04, 2004 8:53 pm

Hello Forum,

I recently noticed that my Wireless NIC, no longer appears in the list when I run MS IP Configuration utility (WINIPCFG.EXE).

it works fine in a pear to pear situation, even though it doesn't appear in IP Cofig or to have an address.

My OS: 98se
Peer: 770z with Linksys PCMCIA Wireless card

Thanks for any help.

Upt: I should have mentioned this is on an A30p

Also, I've downloaded and installed the latest driver for the HRW/lss nic which is now at version 1.07.02. Windows IP Configuration utility still doesn't see the High Rate Wireless Lan. I can still network between this A30p and my 770z which has a Linksys w/lss card. I can't however gain access a a new Linksys router I purchased in preparation of soon to be installed wireless broadband. I can access the router via cable though.

Thanks,
Dave

Problem resolved with the missing IP address on the working HRWLan.

Completely un-installed and re-installed all WRLSnic drivers three times.

And the fruity pear to pear lan I had may have tasted good but was actually a peer to peer lan :)

Now this is how a guy gets a reputation - I read the first post and was mulling over some sort of witty (well, I thought so...) reply when BOOM! the poster replies in MY NAME !

Glad you got it working tho...
