Thinkpad R52 fan issue

#1 Post by Ice&Water » Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:41 am

I have got my R52 screwed up like hell. The fan refused to be turned on. I got no other software to switch it off but it automatically switch itself off. Now i cannot turn it on. I download shimmodax fan software and the fan still cannot be on. How to on the fan? I cannot use my laptop so i am typing from my desktop. I scared the mama board got roasted by the heat. Please help.

I have used a testpan and check for electric voltage and it lights up red. No electric in my fan. What should i do now. My thinkpad is running fine except the fan issue.

First very important question which operating system your using :?:

If your running Linux, fan frequntly starts throwing heat because some Linux distro's still dont support good ACPI support for laptops thus processor gets heat up. :?
