A31 2652-P3U Numlock off/on/off?

#1 Post by iturnrocks » Tue Dec 19, 2006 4:17 pm

I recently bought a USB 21 key keypad for num keys to set beside my thinkpad. Ive found that when the Numlock is on to use the keypad, its also on for the keyboard so U, I, O, P, J, K, L, ;, M, / keys are stuck on their keypad counterparts.

Is there a way to turn off Numlock to the keyboard, yet still have it on for my keypad?

Its ok if the Keyboard Numlock is never on- I never use it. I would like to use the keypad though.

Thank you

I was going to add a link to the keypad product, and found an answer to my question.

http://www.targus.com/us/drivers_manual ... KU=NW21USB

There is an add-on program for this device that allows the use of the keypad numlock indepentdent of the keyboard numlock. Availabe at the link above.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Don't know it this will work for an external USB keyboard or not, but you can turn off NumLock from within BIOS. There should be an entry for NumLock under the Keyboard/Mouse Configuration menu.

Hi,
I am not sure what brand and model you use.

I use both IBM USB Keypad (w/o USB ports) and Ultrabay plus keypad (which is also USB in fact). For those two, I had to install the driver to avoid the same issue you described.

Try this link.

If it does not work, PM me. I have older versions that came with my keypads.
Thanks,
Val
