z61m overheating under keyboard
my z61m seems to be very hot under the trackpoint. I've read some scattered postings elsewhere for the x60 about people sending them back for this very problem.
Anyone know if my warranty will cover sending this back? I'm not even sure it's the WLAN - I haven't bothered to take it apart. Is it possible to take it apart and still turn on the thinkpad to see what exactly is getting hot? and would that void my warranty?

so I took off the palm rest and keyboard, started her up. then felt around for what was getting hot.
Two things:
1) The WIFI card - WM3945ABG
2) some little daughter board just next to it.
The wifi card had a big label over top of it. I took it off because it seems like that would trap heat in. I'd rather have what little airflow there is blow over the chips.
I also removed the little daughtboard(2) which had a really hot little chip on top. From looking at the hardware maint. manual it appears this is the "modem daughterboard". I don't use the modem so much these days..so i'll just run without that piece of heat. it seems to make a minor difference. but honestly I think the real culprit is the Intel WLAN card...dag...should've got it with atheros.
