R-40 2681-F9U Display Issues

I needs some direction Please, I have replaced the suspected Inverter and same problem"Goast images only" Remote LCD working.

Can someone tell me if there is a Backlite ?

will I have to replace the display screen ?

whilst the r40 is turned on try levering up the little button, which is depressed when the screen is closed,(top right of keyboard bezel) with a small flat screw driver. If this fixes it you will need to trim off the lug on the screen bezel which depresses the button.

Otherwise yes there is a backlight tube and they can be replaced but it is not a particularly easy job.
