1GB module in A31 with latest BIOS -- memory question

#1 Post by tbessie » Wed Sep 08, 2004 12:29 pm

I ordered a 1GB module from Crucial, as per advice here, for my A31. Supposedly the latest BIOS can deal with 1GB modules.

What I wonder, though, is must memory in the slots be symmetrical using these larger chips? That is, if I have 1GB in one slot, must I have 1GB (or nothing) in the other? Can I just leave in one of the 256MB modules that are already there?

As long as they're both the same type of PC2100 DDR-SDRAM, the answer is yes you can mix sizes.
