hi guys!! new here

hi guys! i have been trying to active on this forum but i wasnt getting the activation e-mail at all for a while. finally i am here. i have been following the forum for a while and u guys rock. i have a general question too...mine is a z61m-9452 thinkpad. i have been looking for 1gm memory all over. finally i got one last night but i didnt fit.neither did kingston nor patriot!! do we have to buy from lenovo only?? 'cos they are $150 a piece..so jus curious..they r some on Memory Ten for about $110...so please advice guys

No, you don't need to buy from Lenovo only. Any PC2-5300 CL5 SODIMM should work. There are many different kinds of memory modules out there. Make sure it's PC2-5300 (i.e. 667MHz DDR2) CL5. Also, I highly recommend you to buy from Newegg.com.

its strange b'cos i am looking at newegg.com and they show the same i have seen in the store. wen i tried on..the sidegroove doesnt seem to be sitting exactly..fron pin are perfect fit...i cudnt get the sides..thankyou

Perhaps you aren't doing it properly? Go to this page for a video demonstration of how to install memory sticks.
