LCD Latches for R31

a friend of mine dropped her R31 and both of the LCD latches broke. i've repaired several thinkpads in the past, so i know i can fix it for her, but i'm having trouble finding replacement latches specifically for the R31. does anyone know if there is a compatible latch made for another model?

it has been suggested to me on another forum that i try to find a LCD misc parts kit, but i haven't been able to find one for the R31. i think i've found a bezel replacement that has the latches, but she doesn't need a new bezel, so it's a bit of wasted money. thanks!

i think you're out of luck..
if you found the proper parts kit with the latches, get it..
typically, with ibm in the past, these parts are model specific..
they (IBM) would seem to do a whole new part for a minor change..
so finding the same latch in a different and cheaper kit would be amazing good luck and whenever i cheap out on doing most anything i usualy wind up costing myself more in the end..
