BSOD on a Z60m. Help!
I have experienced a BSOD problem with my Z60m (running Windows XP) these past few days. It happened twice already, once a day. It occurs before the Windows loading screen appears. Everything is fine once it restarts itself. I keep forgetting the error message since I get that paranoid fear in me when the BSOD appears.
Before this BSOD happened, I remembered putting the Z60m on its bag on the floor of the passenger seat of a car. The flooring of the car has a rug like feel. Now, I'm worried that it got zapped by static.
What do you recommend that I do?

For giggles...
Does it occur right away or after the system has been on for a while? Try running a 3D benchmark program like 3D mark... Is your system still covered by Lenovo?

It only occurs after turning it off for some time during bootup just before the Windows XP loading screen appears. Thankfully it does not occur during use.
Another thing that I also remembered before this blue screen problem happened is that my trackpad left button has become rather flimsy lately and I had finally opted for a usb mouse.
This was when the problems started around 5 (?) days ago.
I'll write the problem down once I spotted it again.
Should I start considering returning the laptop to the vendor?

If you just bought it... I would go back to them, but if you have had it you do usually get a 1-Year of support...

I've found that sometimes peripherals can cause BSODs. You could call tech support and tell them about the loose button on the touchpad, they'd probably send out a new keyboard so that would give you a shot at replacing that. But be sure to tell them you are getting the BSOD too. They might just say send the unit back.
They also will probably tell you to do the factory restore first though.
