Z61m for audio recording?

Hi

I'm thinking about buying a Z61m for audio recording. Is anyone using this laptop for this purpose, and if so, how well does it perform this task?

What exactly are you attempting to do? Be advised that the Z61m does not have a line in port...so you are not going to be able to hookup a tape or record player. Recording streaming media using the stereo mixer as the input to the audio recording software works just fine...

Thanks for the replies. I'm talking about studio audio recording. But it looks like I'll be buying an inta-audio laptop now.

I have been using my Z61m to do video capture/processing and it is a fine machine for that purpose. For audio capture/processing, it might be a bit of overkill: the z61t might be well suited.

A lot of USB based audio capture devices exist on the market and that might work well for your needs if you choose to use one of these machines.
