Thinkpad R52 (1860-CM2) Resolution Problem

#1 Post by kermitos » Tue Feb 20, 2007 10:09 pm

Hi All,

Hope u guys can help me out.

I recently bought a Thinkpad R52 (model 1860-CM2) from another forum. Everything is good with the unit, except the screen resolution. The person who I bought it from claimed that it has a SXGA+ LCD, and has been running it at 1400x1050 for near a year. However it came with a fresh install of XP minus all the drivers, and in XP the LCD is detected as an IBM VGA LCD. Since then I've installed all the drivers, but still no luck with the LCD. I've been playing around with the monitor and video card drivers, and trying to get it to go 1400x1050. However I'm not having much luck. :?

Can anyone help?

S/he lied. The specs for the 1860-CM2 are:

Based on 1858-6MM: P M 740(1.7GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 4200rpm HDD, 15in 1024x768 LCD, Intel 900, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-Burner, Intel 802.11abg wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, IEEE 1394, 6 cell Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

If there is a feedback system for that forum, don't leave a feedback for the seller yet. Try to resolve the problem with him/her privately first.
