Quite a few people have reported problems with the bluetooth on their z61m randomly disconnecting, so I'm posting this poll to try and determine how widespread this problem might be.
Please post your experiences or anything you might have found to solve the problem.
If you are having problems, it would also be helpful to post the firmware, bluetooth driver/widcomm versions you are running.
You can find the firmware revision on the Diagnostics tab of the Bluetooth Configuration dialog, accessed by right-clicking the bluetooth system tray icon.
You can find the bluetooth driver version on the properties tab for the 'Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate' device in Device Manager.
Eg:
I use a logitech mx5000 bluetooth mouse, and my bluetooth drops out several times a day. I have also experienced problems with an mx5000 keyboard, microsoft bluetooth explorer mouse, and treo 650.
Firmware Version: 2.1.92.108
Bluetooth Driver/widcomm: 5.1.0.2100
This poll was created to try and get some more concrete information about the problems several members have mentioned in this thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=34639
Thanks,
Dan
z61m Bluetooth Problems Poll
awesome!! so maybe lenovo will finally due something about it,
.299 firm
Tried 2100, 2300, 2500 all of those drivers have the same issue with random disconnects, also switched to windows vista for couple hours just to find out same thing exists,
send my laptop once for a fix from what they said bios updates were performed, sending it 2nd time since issue wasn't resolved.

Re: z61m Bluetooth Problems Poll
Have 2 z61m : 9450-39U and 9450-D9U
Did a clean install of XP SP3 and installed ONLY audio, BT (5.5.0.4300), and ATI X1400 w/o Control Center. Seems like the problem is with the Video driver and BT. I've tried many combinations. Can't live without the video driver, so BT is now disabled. Wonder if the X1300, X5250, or the Intel 950 cards have similar problems?
My z61t 9440-2CU with Intel 950 does not have any BT problems.
Anyone with any updates on this problem?
