Good price for a z60m??

#1 Post by iMav » Sat Mar 03, 2007 10:56 am

Someone is selling the following locally (used):

IBM Z60M 2GHz Pentium M (2530-38U)
2GB RAM
100GB HD
128MB ATI Radeon X600 Video Card
CDRW/DVDRW 802.11 ABG Integrated Warless Card
2 - 9c Li-Ion Batteries (4-5hrs. working time from each)
Windows XP Pro Office 2003
4-1 Card Reader
Tom Bihn Computer Sleeve

For $1350.

Assuming it is in good shape, do you think this is a good price?

Make sure it's a legal installation, i.e. the product key sticker should be included.

Overpriced

#4 Post by gotconsultants » Sat Mar 03, 2007 11:47 pm

I bought my Z60m in December 2005 for $1399 with a 9-cell battery. It only had 1GB of RAM, but that is only worth maybe $150 today as an aftermarket upgrade.

Check the battery life on the 9-cells... Mine lasted about 13-months.

Make sure Office and Windows are legit as well...

That's a little steep. I hunted a lot, an dot a comparable machine for 1k. But then again, if the desire to have the machine overpowers, get it. You will not be disappointed!

Not really for the good price. As I just missed one in the Lenovo emplpoyee concession buying program here for the exact model except for the ram being just 1GB(but I got one new 512MB original one from eBay for about USD$32 shipped). The price here is AUD$980 shipped-USD$754.60.

Again. I got the Office Ultimate 2007 for USD$80 directly from MS for the concession price. I am not bragging here. What I want to say suppose there is a guy like me who can get all these concession stuff directly from the manufacturer, you might get the whole idea of the best price. Thanks.
