A31p - What does the "p" designate?

#1 Post by Scot_Free » Tue Mar 06, 2007 7:30 am

I am contemplating buying a used A31 and I noticed that much of the discussion here concerns the A31p, but the ones I see available are desinated merely A31.

What does the "p" stand for?

Welcome to forums!

"p" designation stands for performance, top of line models of particular series. Recommended reading for start is FAQ.

The most obvious thing that you'd notice is that an A31 has either XGA (1024x768) or SXGA+ (1400x1050) resolution, whereas the A31p always has UXGA (1600x1200) resolution. If you decide to get an A31, make sure you check the resolution before buying.
