z60t undock from minidock causes bluescreen crash

#1 Post by El2 Camino » Wed Mar 07, 2007 12:17 am

I have z60t and minidock running WinXP SP2. Most of time when I undock it by pressing the undock button, the laptop crashes and shows blue screen. It seems a driver problem rather than hardware -- IBM just swapped the minidock for me because the tech support over the phone thought it will be easy to ship a new dock station than debugging it.

After I receive the brand new minidock (2504 type), the problem still happens.

Anyone out there has a solution? I got the latest BIOS and everything is update to date.

Thanks.

Thunderbird problems?

#2 Post by El2 Camino » Sun Mar 11, 2007 11:19 pm

I shutdown applications one by one and ran some tests for this. Eventually, it seems the thunderbird (mozilla's mail client) causing the problem. Now I have to procedure.
1) Close Thunderbird
2) Press the undock button
3) Go to Sleep mode

All these are done in a simple au3 script with one click.

Hope this help who encounters similar problem.
