g40 max memory

#1 Post by richk » Mon Mar 12, 2007 6:21 pm

The specs for the G40 state it will take a max of 1GB memory (2 X 512MB) Is this really true or can you put in 2 X 1GB chips?

Thanks

It will take a max of 2GB with two 1GB PC2100 or PC2700 sticks installed.

The 1GB limitation in the specs is a result of the fact that there weren't any 1GB sticks available at the time the machines were released.

The same limitation can be found in the specs for the T30 and A31 systems for the same reason and I can assure you that both of those machines here in my stable are happily running with 2GB RAM installed.
