I am not using Vista yet, but one possibility is that you have more than one WiFi profile and Access Connections looks through them all. What I do is uncheck "Automatically try this profile", let the computer start and then select the profile I need manually. This is a common slow down issue along the lines you describe for many profiles (I have a dozen or so). ... JDH

Your second post conflicts with your first post. First post says you need Access Connections for WiFi; second post says no profiles. If you need AC, you *must* set up profiles. It looks to me that you haven't set up AC at all, and it is busy wanting to be set up. At this point, I suggest you read the documentation and set it up (or delete AC and forget about it). ... JDH

Same problem, only on a T-60. Let me know if you find a solution. I have the Atheros wirelss card.

ACMainGUI and AcSVS are the problem on my T-60

I did a complete restore on 3/31 because access connections was taking such a long time to boot (anywhere from 3-5 minutes). It was also taking a long time to shut down. I was getting error messages about ACMainGUI and AcSvc. After the reinstall it was still taking longer than I expected it would and at times I was still gettting the ACMainGUI and AcSvc messages when powering down. I was also unable to connect wirelessly when on battery. I am guessing power management issue. Last night after powering up on AC power and and later disconnecting to go on battery and moved roughly 50 feet from the router, I lost the connection. I clicked on the AC icon in the taskbar and every icon on my screen as well as the battery icon and every icon in the taskbar began to flash. The system was very unstable so I powered down. This AM I decided to do ANOTHER restore since I do not find that the system works as a new system should. This time I did not install AC but used the windows wirelss to manage connections. Boot up time went to 40-45 seconds and power down was very fast. I tried this 3-4 times and was able to work off battery at 50 feet from router so decided to install AC just to see what would happen. Boot time went back up to 2 minutes and power down and restart can take up to 5 minutes. I enabled error logging on my wireless card (Atheros n) and this is what I get:

This is only a small part of the log which was created after only three boots. I am using Win XP Pro and have 2GB ram so I do not think boot up and power down should be so long. I am beginning to think that the restore partition was corrupt from the factory.

Does anybody have a solution?
