IPS Flexview

#1 Post by proaudioguy » Tue May 01, 2007 11:08 pm

How can I tell if these have IPS "Flexview" screens?

A31p 2653-HTU
A31 2652-D3U
A31 2652-D4U

I enter them on Lenovo but the details are sketchy.

Find the model on IBM site and follow "LCD service parts" link for details. AFAIK 15" UXGA were always IPS.

According to the Tawbook, the A31p has 15" UXGA-IPS, whereas both A31's only have 15" SXGA+, no IPS.

Awesome thanks.

I didn't know to look for SERVICE parts.

Speaking of that I can't seem to find the service parts for sale on IBM or Lenovo's website. Anyone have a link?

Edit, OK I looked at the site you said and it shows SXGA+ and SXGA+ IPS. It shows part numbers. What it doesn't do is tell me which one I have in my computer. Do I have to actually take it apart and look at the FRU on the LCD and see if it's 11P8206?

You don't trust the Tawbook? It clearly says those two A31's aren't IPS.

Yeah. The Tabooks would be the only thing I'd actually trust, since the websites have been known to have mistakes here and there (like advertising 14" SXGA+ IPS models, confusing DVD burners with combo drives, etc.)

The only downside is that they cover only US models, not global.

I was just going by the other poster that said look at lcd parts.

I don't have tabook. Now that I see what you a re saying though it makes more sense to me.

Where do you get TABOOK and what does TABOOK mean?

Item #1 in the FAQ.

TABOOK - list of current Thinkpad models
TAWBOOK - list of models withdrawn before the sale to Lenovo
LTWBOOK - list of models withdrawn after the sale to Lenovo
TRWBOOK - list of withdrawn R-series models

There are a few other books as well, containing even older models, or desktops.
